Gérald Genta Retro Fantasy “Donald Duck Baseball” Ref. G.3612

Gérald Genta Retro Fantasy reference G.3612 in stainless steel, measuring 34mm and dating to the late 1990s. The hours appear through an aperture at six, while Donald Duck’s baseball bat indicates the minutes across a retrograde scale, swinging back instantaneously at the change of the hour with a satisfying sound that only a mechanical movement an provide.

The mother-of-pearl dial brings a precious, shifting surface to the humorous design. When first presented at Geneva’s Montres et Bijoux fair in 1984, the combination was controversial enough for the pieces to be removed from display. This example is fitted with its original Gérald Genta strap and signed buckle.
